The Beginning...
One day I was driving through my neighborhood and saw trash piled up on the sidewalks.
I didn't know why.
I was new to the neighborhood and community and wasn't aware that it was "Bulk Trash" week.
I didn't even know what this was. But every house had piles of stuff sitting on the sidewalk.
Yard clippings, fence posts, old cardboard boxes, used household items, toys and car parts.
We were at a point where I was looking to make some extra money, just to get to the next paycheck.
So, I saw a guy putting some stuff out on the sidewalk, stopped and asked him if I could take
this stuff and what was it out here for anyways. He told me I could have whatever I wanted and just not
to make a mess.
Instantly my mind started working on how to take someone's discarded "TRASH" and turn it into cash.
I could not believe, still don't, that people throw away so many usable things. Some things I could use
and the rest could at the very least be sold at a garage sale. Why didn't the owners have garage sales?
Why didn't they just donate it to GOODWILL? Did ALL this stuff need to go to the landfill?
I started doing this in 2008. Since I've started I have found a way to supplement my income with these discarded treasures. I've also come the very real realization that AMERICA is an extremely wasteful
country and if not as a whole then let's just say there are some very wasteful individuals.
That's how it started.
